I purchased an Anker 4 port usb hub after speaking to one of your tech people. I like it except that when I plug in my external cd/dvd drive it says that it needs power. I am confused because your tech people said that this is the one to buy from Amazon. Obviously, it requires power,so I don't use it. It just hangs on my bookcase to remind me that I thought I was purchasing the correct USB HUB and not to repeat a mistake. So I have a MACBOOK Air with 2 each 3.0 ports and the laptop was manufacured in Mid August of 2013. Would you please be kind enough to advise what HUB that I need to purchase so that my external cd drive will work? I only need 3 or 4 extra ports.
Thanks and if you need more information my phone # is 412-727-6060.
Sincerely,
Buddy Klemp

I've seen the 7-port version of this advertised as Mac compatible 10.6 - 10.9 yet this version says 10.2 or above. What's the difference - or is it that you need a driver for earlier versions? I run OS X 10.6.8. If you need a driver, does the company them, and is there one for 10.6.8 I could download if I bought the device?

- Is it compatible with Ubuntu 12.04?
- What is the input (volts/amperes) of wall adapter?

On other sites I've read of compatibility problems between various USB hubs and the Late 2012 Mac mini. I'm interested in buying the Anker AH241 USB 3.0 13-Port Hub but would greatly appreciate first knowing if such compatibility issues have been rectified. Many thanks!

From what I've read on the Apple Support Communities forum, the Mac mini's USB ports can be flakey with higer-powered devices like an iPad or high current devices. The solution is almost always to use the "other" USB port on the Mac Mini. If one does not work properly, try the other one. Seems as if one port (I have no idea which one since I don't have a Mac Mini) is fine for high current devices and one is not.
Since the Anker 13-Port Hub is externally powered by what seems to be a quite larger power supply, I really can't see any issues due to the USB ports on the Mac Mini since the hub is powered by it's own power supply.

Does this (or any of Anker's) USB hubs have multiple transaction translators?

they do come with it
I have had this product and enjoy the functionality of it. My only complaint really is on construction and materials. Its made out of a metal that I personally dont like and feels like fingernails on a chalkboard when I use it. Also the cable connections are pretty tight to get in there as well. I would have preferred plastic or something similar. But I am an avid supporter of ANKER and enjoy the use of all their products. I've bought their wall chargers, external batteries and even their webcam. I have zero complaints about any of those.
I hate complaining about any of their product but in my opinion this one could have been made better. Functionality wise its flawless. Keep it up :)
metal is too heavy they shouldve gone for carbon metal LOL

Hello, I'm having an issue where my mouse cursor is erratic and freezes for a few seconds with the 13-port USB 3.0 hub attached. After disconnecting all of my USB devices with the exception of the Logitech mouse and keyboard transmitter, and the Plugable USB3 Docking station that my external monitor is attached to, the mouse cursor once again moves smoothly on the screen. However, when I plug in the Anker 13-port USB 3.0 hub (without any devices attached to it), the erratic mouse behavior returns. I'd like to ensure the firmware revision of the hub is the latest version. How can I display/upgrade the firmware version of the hub? It is S/N 5AK7Q5. Thank you. Sincerely, Mark
The hub does not need firmware update
it is not like smartphone which need update
Its plug and play!

Windows 10
The compatibility section doesn't list Windows 10. Could you confirm that the hub is indeed compatible with Windows 10?
Yes, it is.
Because of the way that USB hubs work, if it is still being sold and is compatible with another version of windows (and connects via USB) it will be compatible with Windows 10. USB hubs are built to use standard drivers that are included in most every modern operating system. :)
Hope I could help! Enjoy your high quality Anker Products!
