Customer FAQ

Q1.  Which charging port should I use to charge my device?
Thanks to Power IQ technology, each charging port can charge any device at full speed - there's no need to
find a specific port.
Q2.  What kind of USB charging cables should I use with this charger?
To ensure complete safety and best performance, we strongly recommend using your device's original cable or a third-party certified cables (such as MFI).
Q3.  What if the Anker Dual-Port Wall Charger is not charging my device(s)?
A. Check to ensure that your device is USB-powered with an input current between 0 and 2.4 amps and a voltage input of 5V.
B. Use a different usb cable to double check. If the issue is our wall charger, please feel free to email us at to claim the 18 months warranty.
Q4.  What should I do if certain port/ports fail to work?
A. Please unplug the power cord from the back of the charger and any USB cables from the ports on the front.
B. After 15 minutes plug the power cord back in and try a different USB cable in the non-working port to see if the problem has been resolved.
C. Please email us at during your 18-month warranty if your device appears to be defective or you need further help.
Q5.  Why are my Samsung Galaxy S5, S4 and Note 3 devices charging slightly slower from this charger than the original charger that came with my device?
The heightened sensitivity of these devices to voltage input may in some cases slow their charging speed.
Q6.  My device charges at 1 Amp, will this charger’s 4 Amp output harm it?
No, the charger will only supply the maximum charge current allowed by your device up to 2.4 Amps from each port. That is to say, if you use a 2.4A charger with a device drawing 1A, it will only draw 1A.
Q7.   How do I check my device’s input current and voltage?
Please refer to your device’s user manual, original OEM charging adapter, or contact the manufacturer to determine this information
Q8.  When the charger is plugged into an outlet but has no devices plugged in, will it consume power? What is the standby power consumption?
The charger will consume almost no power in this state. Its standby power consumption is rated at <0.5W.
Q9.  Can I use this charger in other countries?
Yes, this charger is compatible with 100-240V. However, the plug is designed for the country it was originally shipped to. You may need to buy a universal Outlet Plug Adapter .

Compatible with the Asus ME301T tablet?
I just purchased this 2-port charger and connected it to my Asus MeMo ME301t tablet and although it says that it's charging, the battery life just keeps decreasing.  I tried both ports with the same result.  Just to make sure that the charger works, I connected it to my Samsung S4 phone (with the same USB cable) and it charged right up.  Please advise.  Thanks!

USB speakers
I use a pair of Altec Lansing BXR1220 USB powered speakers plugged into my GS4 charger to stream Pandora at work.  I carry a second USB charger in case I need to charge my phone.  Can this provide enough power for the speakers? Would such a device have any issues with the PowerIQ? Thanks!
Replies(2) Collapse Report as spam Nov 10, 2014 at 12:20 AM
It should be able to provide enough power for the speakers.

Without knowing the exact input power of the speaker it's difficult to know.

Please get in touch with our customer service guys at and let them know and they should be able to help you further.

Is there an advisory against using this for ps3 or ps4 dualshock controllers? I tried plugging one in and it doesn't appear to be doing anything.
Replies(2) Collapse Report as spam Oct 24, 2014 at 7:47 PM
PS3 controllers use an older and very strict USB protocol that requires a data connection to charge, so they can only be charged by ports that communicate data (PC, video game consoles with USB ports, some TVs and AV receivers).  PS4 controllers are supposed to be OK with just about any USB port or charger, but I do not have one and cannot confirm that.
Reply Report as spam Nov 10, 2014 at 12:39 AM
It won't charge PS3 controllers because Sony locked them to only charge via computer or the PS3 itself. It will charge PS4 controllers though.

can i charge a galaxy s3 and asus t1001a at the same time with this? With maximum charge speed?
Replies(1) Collapse Report as spam Oct 22, 2014 at 8:28 PM
It would work with almost all devices charging 2 at the same time but Asus tablets have unusual charging technology which can make them temperamental with 3rd party chargers and batteries so we can't guarantee compatibility.

Hi:I´m interested in the Anker 20W Dual-Port USB Wall Charger Travel Charger with PowerIQ Technology, and I would like to know if the charger automatically stops when the device battery is full. I couldn´t find that detail in the charger specifications.ThanksDiego Pacheco

Yes, the charger will cease providing a charge then the device it is charging reaches capacity.

The charger has a built in regulator, fail safe, and current limiter to prevent overcharging a device, but it will continue to provide a charge as long as the device is plugged in. That way your device stays charged even if using it.

It will stop as the battery level hits 100%.

Meets my power need at home and the road
I recently received the Anker 20W Dual-Port Wall Charger for evaluation. I am a huge fan of all Anker products so it’s no surprise I like what I’ve seen with this new product. My first impression upon opening the box is how small the charger is. It’s only 2 ¼’ X 1 ¾’ X 1” in size and very light – that’s important when packing for a trip. The metal plug folds in, which makes it easier to store and protects the plug.I have a lot of gadgets and the Anker 20W Wall Charger handled everything I plugged into it. My key pieces of hardware to test batteries, power adapters, and power blocks are the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 and the Asus T100TA hybrid laptop. Both have specific needs, especially the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1. I’ve had problems finding third party products to meets its voracious power requirements. The Anker 20W Dual-Port USB Wall Charger with PowerIQ™ Technology handled it and the Asus laptop easily. Throw in the iPad Air, the iPad Mini, Kindle Fire HDX, and my HTC M8 cell phone; in fact I couldn’t find anything in my gadget closet the charger couldn’t handle. It’s a must for travelers or if you have big power needs at home. The Anker 20W Dual-Port USB Wall Charger with PowerIQ™ Technology is a no-brainer! 5 Stars and a permanent place in my travel bag!
