Customer FAQ

Q1.  Which charging port should I use to charge my device?
Thanks to Power IQ technology, each charging port can charge any device at full speed - there's no need to
find a specific port.
Q2.  What kind of USB charging cables should I use with this charger?
To ensure complete safety and best performance, we strongly recommend using your device's original cable or a third-party certified cables (such as MFI).
Q3.  What if the Anker Dual-Port Wall Charger is not charging my device(s)?
A. Check to ensure that your device is USB-powered with an input current between 0 and 2.4 amps and a voltage input of 5V.
B. Use a different usb cable to double check. If the issue is our wall charger, please feel free to email us at to claim the 18 months warranty.
Q4.  What should I do if certain port/ports fail to work?
A. Please unplug the charger from the outlet and any USB cables from the ports on the front.
B. After 15 minutes plug the charger back in and try a different USB cable in the non-working port to see if the problem has been resolved.
C. Please email us at during your 18-month warranty if your device appears to be defective or you need further help.
Q5.  Why are my Samsung Galaxy S5, S4 and Note 3 devices charging slightly slower from this charger than the original charger that came with my device?
The heightened sensitivity of these devices to voltage input may in some cases slow their charging speed.
Q6.  My device charges at 1 Amp, will this charger’s 4 Amp output harm it?
No, the charger will only supply the maximum charge current allowed by your device up to 2.4 Amps from each port. That is to say, if you use a 2.4A charger with a device drawing 1A, it will only draw 1A.
Q7.   How do I check my device’s input current and voltage?
Please refer to your device’s user manual, original OEM charging adapter, or contact the manufacturer to determine this information
Q8.  When the charger is plugged into an outlet but has no devices plugged in, will it consume power? What is the standby power consumption?
The charger will consume almost no power in this state. Its standby power consumption is rated at <0.5W.
Q9.  Can I use this charger in other countries?
Yes, this charger is compatible with 100-240V. However, the plug is designed for the country it was originally shipped to. You may need to buy a universal Outlet Plug Adapter .

Great for Travel or around the house

“I was supplied a sample for test and evaluation, and I promised that my review is fair and honest" is the boilerplate language I was told to use to satisfy the FTC but to be honest I was an Anker customer for before I started doing reviews. I was a customer because of thier quality, so there is that bias. That said, in no way have they asked me for anything but my honest opinion, and if they had, I wouldn't be reviewing their products.

I used this in place of the 5-port bank from Anker (Anker PowerPort 5 (40W 5-Port USB Charging Hub) Multi-Port USB Charger for iPhone 6s / 6 / 6 Plus, iPad Air 2 / mini 3, Galaxy S6 / Edge / Plus, Note 5 and More (Black)) while reviewing. There was no perceptable diference in charging and I wouldn't expect there to be, they use the same technology.

So that out of the way, lets take a look. First thing out of the box is there is no wasted space or difficult packaging to wrestle through. No need to fill up your trash can with bulky packaging or have shears or box cutters handy. Attached is an image of the box and everything in it.

The two port charge is a bit on the large side, though not huge. It easily fits an outlet even when the other outlet has something plugged in. Attached is a reference photo for the size.

As I said, slightly larger than I expected, but still plenty small to fit in a suitcase or travel bag. This would be ideal for travel as it has two 2.4 Amp max output and the PowerIQ chip will match the output to the device for optimum charging. It will easily and simultaneously charge phones, watches, tablets, or portable chargers. I've been using it daily for the last few days to charge a pair of telephones.

The build is very solid. You won't be afraid that it will break during travel, as I think this will be my goto charger to throw in my bag. The fold out prongs for plugging it in have a solid two "clicks" and give the impression they will last a long, long time, and stick out enough so you can open them with your fingertip. No broken nails.

Overall, I think this is a great 2 port charge, expecially at the price listed at the time of review ($13.99) when you can easily spent $10 on a cheap one port charger at a convenience store.

Yes, all Anker chargers can safely charge an iPhone 6s. The Power IQ technology enables the charger to charge any device as fast or nearly as fast as the OEM charger would.

Can I get an exchange

I bought a white dual port 20W wall charger thru amazon on 7/20/2015. I was very happy with the product until one of the electrical prongs broke off a couple of days ago. Of course I believe i did not mistreat the charger. I suspect the molded plastic that holds the metal prong was defective a cracked under minimal stress. It is not a piece I would feel safe gluing.

I like the unit and would welcome the opportunty to return it for an exchange of an identical model if your are agreeable. Amazon does not allow returns after 30 days. Is Anker agreeable to an exchange? If so my address is:

Another quality Anker product

This is a great wall charger for on the go. Has IQ technology to determine right power level and prevent over charging.

The charger is compact and yet well made, with a plug that can be retracted, provides ultimate portability.

I use heavily on road to charge my iPhone 6, ipad, Android tablet and more.

Definitely recommended. Anker makes quality products and never had an issue with prior purchases

Full speed but not QC 2.0

So, this will charge the G3 at the maximum rate for a non Quickcharge 2.0 charger; however, you can get even faster charging (off the top of my head around 30% faster) using one of the new Anker Quickcharge 2.0 compliant chargers.

Replies(4) Collapse Report as spam Jul 24, 2015 at 8:53 AM

its not QC2.0 its Power IQ

but there is QC2.0 charger from anker

The LG G3 uses bc1.2 charging via the TI BQ24296, and is not compatible with quickcharge.

Reply Report as spam Nov 17, 2015 at 8:12 PM

So no, you will not charge faster with a quickcharge device. In fact, unless the quickcharge device also supports bc1.2, you will be quite a bit slower.

Side note, this charger won't charge my G3 at anywhere close to full speed. I'm only getting .85 amps, whereas my wifes galaxy s4 (which is also bc1.2) get ~1.7amps, using the same cables (stock cable or anker cable). So I'm not sure whats up, but I have a support ticket in, we'll see what happens.

IPad and iPhone charging

I have a iPad 3 and and iPhone 6.  Can I charge both at the same time?  What will the output of each port be?

Replies(3) Collapse Report as spam May 24, 2015 at 5:03 PM

The maximum output of this device is 4 watts shared between two ports, each device (tablet and phone) will draw what is needed to charge it, but no more than the stated 4 watts. So, yes, you can charge both your phone and tablet at the same time without any worry.

Reply Report as spam May 24, 2015 at 7:52 PM

Yes it can be charged at the same time at 2.4Amp

Reply Report as spam May 25, 2015 at 12:05 AM

Quote From Gabrielkbkim: " 2.4Amp"

Quote From Shawn: "...this device is 4 watts shared"

Both of these statements are not entirely true.  First off it is 20 watts and 4 amps.  Second, you can't exceed the 4 amps using both at the same time, so the 2.4Amp charge at the same time isn't true either because that would exceed the 4Amps by .8 amps.  Since the iPhone 6 and the iPad 3 can both be charged at 2.1Amps, you can't charge them both at the highest speed together since you will exceed the 4amps by .2 amps.  You can get dang close though.

Anker states their policy is returns and exchange service is limited to all purchases made directly from Anker. If you purchased through a different retailer, please contact them directly. Not sure I would want to give up a great warranty to save a few cents.
