Customer Reviews

  • Great budget mouse.
  • Good mouse for the money. Many changeable settings such as DPI (which goes above native 2000dpi to accelerated 4000dpi) and polling rate along with key binds and profiles. It also allows changing the LED settings such as pulse speed and simply turning the LEDs off which is preferable if you want to make the mouse slightly low profile. My only problem is that the software is a bit finicky. It doesn't apply the changes right away and freezes up at times (on Windows 7 x64). The changes only take effect when I re-plug the mouse in. Also works slightly better under Linux Wine. I also would like if it had more options like changing the built in colors (lowest DPI settings is always Red and as you go up it goes to Blue then Green then Pink for the highest DPI). I feel like it wouldn't be too difficult to change the order or even include new colors like White since the mouse shines a whitish pink when you first plug it in, but unfortunately there's no way to do that from the software.

  • For $20?
  • I needed a gaming mouse to carry me for a week while I waited for my newly ordered G502 to arrive. I figured I'd buy this and then return it. I'm not returning it-- its that good. I'm keeping this for use on my laptop. Not only is it extremely ergonomic, but it has such a blended weight, good click, and nothing feels cheapy about. none of the panels are loose, none of the seams are uneven, there is no rattle. Very well constructed mouse. Absolute steal for $20.

  • For the price, a very nice mouse.
  • I wanted to find an inexpensive mouse to use on my secondary computer. My main gaming rig uses a $100-something Logitech mouse, which I enjoy, but the other computer had the crappy factory mouse that ships with most new computers. It was so cheap the pageforward/pageback keys had reversed themselves within a year of use. A friend had mentioned Anker, so I checked them out and found this for about $20. For the money, it feels like a much higher quality unit. The adjustable-on-the-fly DPI is nice, the buttons all have a fairly solid feel to them, and it has reasonable heft. Overall quite good, a good first impression from Anker, and I'd recommend it to a friend.

  • Something i would pay triple for.
  • Pros: Colorful ( also a con [see below]) 2 DPI Buttons Up to 4000 DPI with software Braided Cord Completely Programmable - MACROS! Fits like a Glove AMAZING SUPPORT SERVICE Cons: Huge Problem in my opinion = Custom Colors. ( Explained below) Cant Set Color to DPI - Colors are in this order - Red, Blue, Green Pink. This mouse is way above average with one issue. This mouse is capable of every possible color but it only sets you to four ( Red, Blue, Green Pink). In fact when you plug it in, it has a white back light. Other than that, GREAT product.

Customer FAQ

Q1.  What is DPI?
Dots per inch (DPI) is a measure of spatial printing or video dot density, in particular the number of individual dots that can be placed in a line within the span of 1 inch (2.54 cm). For example, when DPI is set to be 400, the cursor will move by 400 dots for every inch the mouse is moved.
Q2.  What is polling rate?
Polling rate (or report rate) determines how often your mouse sends information to your computer. Measured in Hz, this setting equates to lag time (in ms). If the polling rate is set at 1000Hz, the mouse cursor will be updated every 1 millisecond.
Q3.  What factors are most important to take into consideration when buying a new gaming mouse?
There are two major factors to consider when choosing a gaming mouse: the way the mouse feels in your hand and its performance. As long as you feel comfortable when clicking, moving, and gripping the mouse, then it will be an appropriate choice. As to performance, you should take several key parameters into account, such as the number of function keys, DPI, FPS, transfer rate, and customizability. Generally speaking, the higher the value of DPI, FPS, and transfer rate, the faster the operating speed and accuracy of the mouse will be.
Q4.  Can I use the gaming mouse to replace my regular mouse?
Yes, of course. The gaming mouse is equipped with customizable buttons which facilitate webpages viewing, and is able to track your move more precisely. By adjusting the gaming mouse to different applications, you can use the gaming mouse either in gaming or daily common use.

Connection between this and Armaggeddon

I was browsing the web for a potential gaming mouse to buy, and this seems to hit my fancy. The thing is, I browsed a product on Armaggeddon Gaming Peripherals ( and what the hell, this mouse and armaggeddon's aquila x5 are totally one and the same! So I'd like to know the connection between the two :3 I'd like to know the details if possible... it would help me regain my peace of mind and will help me decide on buying this or the other way around.

The gaming peripheral market is super competitive and it's almost impossible to stop imitations occurring. If the price itself wasn't already enough of an incentive to make the purchase with us then don't forget the world class customer service and 18 month warranty you'll get with Anker.

There's a lot of Anker mice that I have found similarities to. I think they sourced out their earlier designs and manufacturing to a chinese comnpany. So they are some companies that copied and made similar products.

I have seen at least 3 Anker mice by different companies. But these mice are 1-2 years old. Newer Anker products are pretty locked down and have no copy cats

Reply Report as spam Apr 17, 2014 at 8:04 PM

They do look pretty damned similar. Could be a copy, but no one would ever admit it. Heck of a price difference though... 35%? Willing to take a gamble that Anker got this mouse right for 35%? I would.... They get everything else right.

How to INSTALL the software

I have downloaded the software and it opens up in WinRar. I got to the "setup.exe" file and try to run it. When I am on the page to decide where to save the files, I click continue and get an error message saying "String ER_Create_Reg was not found in string table" and then "ER_Create_Reg". I amjust starting computer gaming, so I don't know a whole lot about how to fix this kind of stuff. (I am running Windows 8, not pro)

Replies(4) Collapse Report as spam Apr 10, 2014 at 8:05 PM

That error can occur when the installer script, (setup.exe), used a string variable that is not defined in the string table. In this case "er_create_reg". You could go back to the site and verify that you tried to install the correct version of the mouse. I.E. windows 8 x86 or 64 bit.

Thanks! It turns out I had the correct version ,but after looking this question up on other forums I tried saving the unzipped file to the desktop and then running as administrator. Thanks for the help though.

Out of curiousity, on the first time, did you decompress the file first or did you try to run the setup out of the zipped folder?

2000 DPI Gaming Mouse Driver for Mac
Hi Anker, I have the 2000 DPI Mouse and i use it on my mac, But the mouse is not supporting Mac OS.That's why i cannot use the extra buttons of my mouse. Can you make a driver for the Mac OS?

IT Owl
It's almost impossible to make the driver for Mac OS.

There's a lot of logitech mice that don't even support their extra buttons on Mac.
Reply Report as spam Mar 5, 2014 at 11:52 AM
It says that it is only for Windows
Reply Report as spam Mar 7, 2014 at 4:43 PM
Apple only gave you one button for a reason. If they didn't give you any more, then you don't need any more.

DPI question
If you download the anker software can you customize your mouse to 4000 dpi? Or is this mouse only capable for 2000 dpi and can't go higher than that?
Replies(2) Collapse Report as spam Mar 3, 2014 at 2:53 PM
IT Owl
I believe it is only native 2000 DPI, anything the software gives you will be digital meaning that it uses software to make it appear 4000 DPI.
Reply Report as spam Mar 3, 2014 at 3:07 PM
There are inherent hardware limitations. The things that increase mouse accuracy are polling rates and the actual quality of the sensor.

Software problems
Hi, I just bought this and so far I love it! But every time I try to change the button assignments, I'll press Apply and then the software loads for a while. The apply and OK buttons would freeze up so that I can't apply anymore changes. I'll close it and open it, and it seems like everything that I changed is OK until I press any of the buttons. All the settings return back to default. Would love some help please.
Replies(1) Collapse Report as spam Feb 28, 2014 at 8:06 PM
Hmm, how many times have you tried changing the button assignments?
