Anker Ultra-Slim Folio Case and Bluetooth Keyboard for iPad Air

Anker Ultra-Slim Folio Case and Bluetooth Keyboard for iPad Air

Product Description

360°protection without the bulk.

After all, why turn your thin, light tablet into just another low-end brick? Still, we ensured maximum protection. The polycarbonate inner-case easily absorbs drops and bumps while the synthetic leather outer-case guards against water, scratches and inside-the-bag grating - all only adding 0.39in (keyboard included).

A break from typos.

Trade in tapping for typing and give yourself a break from typos. Featuring low-profile, whisper-quiet keys, a familiar Mac-style layout, and iPad-dedicated hot keys, our keyboard aims to please. Plus, magnetically attached, easily pull it off of the case and set up your screen and keyboard just how you like it.

A stand that stands out.

Instead of just one or two angles to choose from, we made every-possible-angle possible - from 45° to fully upright and even more if you use the keyboard as a stopping foot. What's more, we decided to keep the setup simple - no complicated snapping or origami-mimicking folds. Opening the case will do the trick.

  • Incredible case! Love the keyboard, and magnetic clasp!

  • Good for the price!
  • This cover would've been awesome if it had an easier way to make it a kickstand. The keyboard is loose and does not attach. Overall I would recommend for the price.

  • The best value I have seen for a keyboard case
  • The best value I have seen for a keyboard case. The only reason I didn't give a five star is because it showed some wear on the edges within the first few weeks, with only light use. In general Anker has met or exceeded my expectations on various products.

  • Disappointed, not what I expected
  • I'm very disappointed with this cover :( It does not fit perfectly my iPad Air in the top right corner, therefore the hole left out for the buttons falls into a wrong place, it's hard to press the buttons, I need to push the iPad into the cover first, but it doesn't remain there....Also it was stated it's a silent keyboard, haha, it's much more noisier than my laptop's keyboard! It's not silent at all. Also they said it does not add too much to the weight of my iPad, however the cover itself feels much more heavy than the iPad, together they are almost as heavy as my laptop... It definitely did not worth the price for me.

Customer FAQ

Q1.  The wrong characters are coming out when I type. Why is this?
Please make sure that no water or other liquid has gotten inside of the keyboard, and that it has not been subjected to any rough physical treatment, as doing so may cause internal components to be misplaced.
Q2.  My Bluetooth keyboard is experiencing limited coverage. Why is this?
Please make sure that there is no interference from other devices, then try pairing again.
Q3.  Why isn’t my Bluetooth keyboard working?
The Bluetooth keyboard will not work without a Bluetooth HID profile or driver installed. Please make sure that your device is properly equipped.
Q4.  My Bluetooth keyboard keeps disconnecting from my device. Why is this?
Please check that the keyboard still has sufficient power, and that it is not experiencing any interference from other devices, then try pairing again.
Q5.  Why isn’t my Bluetooth keyboard working with my Android-equipped device?
The Bluetooth keyboard is only compatible with Android 3.0 and above. Please upgrade your system if needed.
Q6.  Can I use my Apple keyboard and regular keyboard interchangeably?
Both keyboards may be used, given the keyboard is compatible with your operating system. There are some minor differences with regard to control keys, however, such as the Command key on the Apple keyboard and the Windows key on the regular keyboard. For example, when using a regular keyboard with a Mac, the Command key function will no longer have any use.
Q7.  Why is the Anker keyboard so expensive?
We incorporate top-quality chips and other raw materials into our products to ensure maximum performance. We have strict manufacturing standards and require quality inspection of all of our finished products. All defective goods are sent back for reprocessing, as we believe that higher costs during the manufacturing process result in a better customer experience. Moreover, we have one of the world’s most professional customer service teams standing behind each of our products.
Q8.  Will this keyboard case work with iPad 4/3/2?
Yes, but the case is designed for iPad Air only.
Q9.  How come my case doesn't trigger the sleep/wake functions on my iPad Air when closed/opened?
This could be down to two reasons. Either the iPad Air is not placed correctly in the case (refer to the photos for the correct alignment). Please also confirm you have enabled Auto sleep/wake in General settings of your iPad Air.
Q10.  Is there a shortcut to send a message using the keyboard?
Press Shift+Cmd+D, but this will only work with iOS's built in Mail app.
Q11.  How do I begin typing again when the keyboard and iPad Air are in sleep mode?
Pressing any key on the keyboard will wake up the iPad Air.
Q12.  Is there a way to change the input language for this keyboard case?
Press Fn+6.

Unfortunately we don't have a wrap-around case for that model at the moment, it's definitely something we can look into though if we see enough interest!

Great Unit
I received this a few days ago, and as usual the packaging is minimal but functional. The box contained the case, keyboard and a USB charging cable, they have chosen to use the most common charging adapter which means that I can use my blackberry charger or my wifes HTC charger although to date the keyboard battery has yet to run down, the keyboard also works whilst it is being charged. The case is functional and fitted my ipad perfectly, holding the tablet firmly in place and all the cut outs were in the correct position and I would say offers reasonable protection. The case is smart looking and would look good on any business mans/womens desk without drawing too much attention to whats inside.I would have liked the closing clasp to have a stronger magnet as I felt the clasp was a little weak and the case did not automatically switch of the ipad which is a little disappointing. The detachable keyboard is small but very usable, finished in black brushed aluminium it looks super smart and is extremely light weight, I was also pleased to see a CAPS indicator which was missing from my Anker Galaxy Tab Keyboard. The keys on the keyboard are great and feel very tactile and have a good spring action. The unit synchronized with my ipad without any drama and I was using the keyboard in less then a minute.I have also synced it with my PC and Raspberry Pi, again no problems.I would very much like to give this a 5/5 but will mark it down a couple of notch's as the clasp I felt was weak and the fact that it does not switch off the ipad when closed means I shall award it 4.8/5.Other than that I can recommend the unit highly, and as a salesman always on the move this has improved my typing on the ipad significantly without adding bulk to my briefcase.I should point out that I have purchased a number of Anker items in the past and one of the main reasons I chose this product over other makes. This review was written using the Anker keyboard.

Thanks so much for taking the time to leave a review.

The case should indeed turn off the iPad when you close it, if you give our customer service guys a shout at and let them know then they'll be able to help you out further.

Hi, I have the Anker Bluetooth Keyboard Case with Stand for my iPad 4 and like it a lot but have just got an air and you don't do this case for it (why not?). Will the slim line case protect the ipad air as well as my other case protects my ipad 4 and also does it automatically close down the ipad when you close it, which is a feature I really like.

This case is for the ipad air so it should protect it

Reply Report as spam May 17, 2014 at 7:53 PM

This case is designed for the iPad Air and will offer it great protection.

And yes, when you close the case the iPad will automatically shut off its screen and go into Standby mode.

The keyboard will work but the case won't

Keyboard is just bluetooth.

Reply Report as spam Apr 15, 2014 at 5:14 PM
The keyboard would work via Bluetooth but unfortunately this case is designed for an iPad Air so it won't take a 1st Gen iPad.

Can keyboard be stored in case?

Have bought this expecting to be able to store my iPad and keyboard together but it appears keyboard has to be carried separately to avoid scratching the iPad. Is this correct?

Can you put the back of the ipad against the keyboard and fold it?

Yes it folds up and you can store it but it would be a bit bulkier

Keyboard -

Have had this product for 3 weeks and really like it.   This morning - certain keys stopped working (k,l & d, f)     I like the unit, but am disappointed something happened to the keyboard.

It is fully powered.    I turned it on/of and connected/reconnected bluetooth.

Improvement/ new product suggestion
Anker - Love your iPad cases, and there is very little that I would change about them. However one thing I'd absolutely love if you could make it work would be to add the ability to rotate the case so you could use the case/stand functionality in portrait mode - similar to a Targus Versavu. I use my device a lot for taking notes in meetings, etc. and this would be awesome. If you could add this feature, while maintaining the overall slim profile and light weight features we've come to know and expect from your cases, you would have the ultimate iPad case hands down!!

I hope Anker reads this and finds a way, but it may be a double-edged sword. The thing I love the most about their case is the lack of fussy origami folds, tabs, extra hinges, popouts, etc. that it seems every other case has, which always makes other cases thicker, heavier, more complicated and more expensive. I use the Anker aluminum stand to prop my iPad up in portrait mode and it holds the device as well as any case I've seen. Still, it would be nice if Anker was able to come up with something revolutionary.

I've considered that stand myself - it does look like it would be really handly, but you have to have a sturdy surface underneath. Wouldn't work so well on my lap when taking notes during a seminar for instance.

That's very true but I haven't seen a stand that could hold my iPad in portrait mode on my lap. Here's a hint that has worked well for me. Depending on if you're right or left handed, hold the tablet with your opposite hand with your index finger between the front and back cover, your thumb on the front of the table (squeezing against your index finger, and your remaining fingers press against the back of the case as a support to keep the case from tilting forward or back. I use that hold 100% of the time when I'm using the tablet for reading, often resting the bottom of the tablet on my lap for extra support if I'm sitting down.
