Customer Reviews

  • This is a great little keyboard--smaller than standard
  • This is a great little keyboard--smaller than standard, of course, but given that surprisingly easy to type on. And it pairs like butter. Super easy, fast, and reliable. Love it!

  • Nice product
  • Works perfectly

  • Good deal
  • Can't beat it for the price. It looks really nice when attached to the iPad. It's a pretty small keyboard, so those with large hands will probably have trouble with it. A couple of the keys are different (such as the apostrophe key), so it does take a bit of practice to get to the point where you don't have to think about it. Received quickly in good packaging and the company has followed up twice to make sure I'm satisfied with product. Recommend.

  • yes i was happy with this case, having real keys makes ahuge difference

  • Ultra-slim Wireless Keyboard/Cover
  • The item shipped promptly and works well, and connects pretty quickly. The keys are large enough so I can type, even if it takes a little getting used to. E.g., too easy to hit Caps Lock instead of A (or hit them both), and the ' and " were not where I could easily find them. It would be nice if spell check and punctuation correction worked as when using the screen keypad or my iPhone. It does afford some protection for my device. I expected the magnet to be a little stronger, but it's adequate. Aside from that, I'm pretty happy with my choice.

Customer FAQ

Q1.  The wrong characters are coming out when I type. Why is this?
Please make sure that no water or other liquid has gotten inside of the keyboard, and that it has not been subjected to any rough physical treatment, as doing so may cause internal components to be misplaced.
Q2.  My Bluetooth keyboard is experiencing limited coverage. Why is this?
Please make sure that there is no interference from other devices, then try pairing again.
Q3.  Why isn’t my Bluetooth keyboard working?
The Bluetooth keyboard will not work without a Bluetooth HID profile or driver installed. Please make sure that your device is properly equipped.
Q4.  My Bluetooth keyboard keeps disconnecting from my device. Why is this?
Please check that the keyboard still has sufficient power, and that it is not experiencing any interference from other devices, then try pairing again.
Q5.  Why isn’t my Bluetooth keyboard working with my Android-equipped device?
The Bluetooth keyboard is only compatible with Android 3.0 and above. Please upgrade your system if needed.
Q6.  Can I use my Apple keyboard and regular keyboard interchangeably?
Both keyboards may be used, given the keyboard is compatible with your operating system. There are some minor differences with regard to control keys, however, such as the Command key on the Apple keyboard and the Windows key on the regular keyboard. For example, when using a regular keyboard with a Mac, the Command key function will no longer have any use.
Q7.  Why is the Anker keyboard so expensive?
We incorporate top-quality chips and other raw materials into our products to ensure maximum performance. We have strict manufacturing standards and require quality inspection of all of our finished products. All defective goods are sent back for reprocessing, as we believe that higher costs during the manufacturing process result in a better customer experience. Moreover, we have one of the world’s most professional customer service teams standing behind each of our products.
Q8.  How do you keep it closed?
There is a magnetised section that will adhere to the iPad Mini to keep it closed.
Q9.  Is this same as the Folio keyboard case?
No, it does not come with a case
Q10.  Can I use this on my lap e.g. on the train?
Q11.  Is there a shortcut to send a message using the keyboard?
Press Shift+Cmd+D, but this will only work with iOS's built in Mail app.
Q12.  How come the arrow keys are not working in the browser?
The arrow keys will only work when you are typing text.

Can't pair
I'm bought it online at and my sister sent to Brazil to me. Unfortunatelly it doesn't work. My ipad just can't find it, it does not appear on my devices list when bluetooth is on. I can't pair this keyboard with my ipad. I'm so sad. I've tried everything!

Could you confirm that it won't pair with any Bluetooth devices?

I bought this product on Amazon and I love it but I lost the charger cord so it will be useless to me soon. Is there anyway to buy just the cord?

You can contact Anker's customer service if they can spare you a charging cable. 1-800-988-7973 (US) Mon-Fri 9am-5pm (PST) If not, you can always purchase a charging cable from Amazon, Monoprice, and other online retailers.

If this is like the bigger one for iPad, then it's just a standard microUSB cable that most android/kindle/nokia devices use isn't it? Available for less than a £1/$1 online
Reply Report as spam Sep 10, 2014 at 12:53 AM

As Stemcgoo said, you just need a Micro USB to USB cable. These are available from most good electronics stores as well as online retailers.

Only Anker, look no further!
I am very impressed by this brand. The keyboard exceeded my expectations! They keys are comfortable, soft, and wont scratch your ipad mini when in case mode. It also acts as a smart case putting the ipad to sleep. Perfect for a trip to the coffee shop or business work out of town with the range of free word processing, database, and other apps in the app store. The shortcut keys are great and easy to understand!I find myself quickly grabbing this case to take notes, recipies, and most importantly, write up contracts on the go for my photography business. You never know where you are going to be when someone needs a waiver sent over ASAP!

It looks like we've fulfilled the exact target we were aiming for. It's absolutely fantastic to see our plans go from the drawing board straight into a customer's hands.

What one
Lasted model 2 gen astro 12000 or the pro 20000
Replies(2) Collapse Report as spam Jun 30, 2014 at 4:12 PM

Our latest model is the Astro3 12,000mAh but this doesn't necessarily mean it's better for what you need.

If you get in touch with our customer service guys at and let them know which batteries you're interested in as well as what you'll be using them for then they'll be able to give you some great advice.

As the features are different between the two models, without knowing what you want to use it for, one may be better than the other (both are great).

We are always looking to expand our product line with devices that our customers are looking for though, so your interest has been noted!

IPad mini in case
My iPad mini is in a thin case less than 1mm thick. Will it still go in the gap in the keyboard??

Try it and report back?  But it's doubtful...

The keyboard is designed to accommodate an iPad with no case on so it may not fit as securely as it might with no case.

it may highly probable it would be a snug fit but wouldnt latch in correctly

Apostrophe "shortcut"

My question is this:
Why, oh why is the apostrophe stuck on a Function+O key?
I use it much more frequently than say...
- a semi colon
- colon
- a question mark
- Pipe
- Forward/Backslash
And yet the apostrophe is tucked away using a combination I have never used on a keyboard before.
Please can a fix for this be introduced?

A great question~!  Am surprised that Anker hasn't studied key usage when making these design choices?
Reply Report as spam Jul 1, 2014 at 11:03 AM

Because it's hard to fit a good full size keyboard in the same room as an ipad mini. Keys had to be regrouped and repositioned.

The FN + O keys isn't too hard to press.

Left pinky on FN and right third finger on O

I totally agree.  It took me a while to find how to type ' in this keyboard.  We use it way more than / or \, even or =, depending on work/documents we type.

I am really interested in buying this product, however I can not find it on the website. Is this product going to be available to buy in the uk and if so when? I can only find the ipad air version on and that's it.

More often than not, it sells out and then Amazon needs to wait for Anker to send more of them. This happens with a lot of Anker's products, so keep checking back! Or maybe check on or .fr....

I hope you read my review at this site for this product. It is beautiful and functional and a great value at the price. I use mine every day. I'm expecting some upgrades from Anker based on the reviews of this product so if you can wait a bit you may be pleasantly surprised.

It is currently only sold in the US, keeping checking because maybe soon it will start being sold in the UK

A beautiful match for Mini/Retina
The very first impression is that this keyboard/case is absolutely beautiful, a perfect match to the good looks of the iPad Mini/Retina. The brushed aluminum finish looks like it was made to compliment the tablet and the size/shape/fit is perfect. It barely adds any thickness to the iPad an almost insignificant weight. Despite its size the keys have a nice size to them. Maybe your fingers won’t fly over them like with a full-size keyboard but I am able to type accurately and reasonably rapidly. There is a satisfying amount of keystroke that is totally missing in the rubber membrane keyboards some other manufacturers use. Your Mini attaches for carrying to a strong magnet strip and additional magnets keep the case closed. When ready to use it simply slide the iPad into the secure magnetized slot and the screen is a perfect angle for typing. What I really like, unlike many other designs I have used, is that the screen is held very securely … most others slip and slide around. This is about as small as realistically possible to carry around as a laptop replacement for quick tasks like surfing the net, Facebook or email. As soon as I received mine I took it on a pleasure trip for which I wanted to pack very lightly. It got a lot of admiring glances in the lobby of the resort I stayed at. The keyboard charges with a standard USB cable (it came pre-charged) and features automatic Bluetooth connectivity after the initial pairing. I experienced no keyboard lag as I have with some of the other keyboard/cases. One final note – the keyboard attaches to the iPad in an unusual way, with a strong magnetic hinge as noted above. It is indeed strong! I felt no concerns that the two pieces would separate, but please be realistic about it … lifting the keyboard to let the tablet flop backwards could invite trouble, remember it is a magnet and as strong as it is, the tablet could snap loose under some conditions. I can’t see myself doing that, but use prudence just the same.

Wanted to add that I just came back from a trip where I used this on one of those tiny airline tray tables and it was ideal. I could slip the entire mini fully protected into a large jacket pocket when I wasn't using it. Those who travel by air a lot know what a hassle it is to do "something" with their full-size laptop when you want to take a nap. No where to put it.
