  • Wonderful little keyboard
  • Wonderful little keyboard. Connects easily through bluetooth to my iPad and the battery life is fantatic! Sound like a normal keyboard, not loud at all. I got tired of popping my iPad out of the regular case to use the keyboard so now I don't use the case part of this keyboard, I just prop my iPad up in its normal case and set the keyboard next to it. Works great!

Customer FAQ

Q1.  The wrong characters are coming out when I type. Why is this?
Please make sure that no water or other liquid has gotten inside of the keyboard, and that it has not been subjected to any rough physical treatment, as doing so may cause internal components to be misplaced.
Q2.  My Bluetooth keyboard is experiencing limited coverage. Why is this?
Please make sure that there is no interference from other devices, then try pairing again.
Q3.  Why isn’t my Bluetooth keyboard working?
The Bluetooth keyboard will not work without a Bluetooth HID profile or driver installed. Please make sure that your device is properly equipped.
Q4.  My Bluetooth keyboard keeps disconnecting from my device. Why is this?
Please check that the keyboard still has sufficient power, and that it is not experiencing any interference from other devices, then try pairing again.
Q5.  Why isn’t my Bluetooth keyboard working with my Android-equipped device?
The Bluetooth keyboard is only compatible with Android 3.0 and above. Please upgrade your system if needed.
Q6.  Can I use my Apple keyboard and regular keyboard interchangeably?
Both keyboards may be used, given the keyboard is compatible with your operating system. There are some minor differences with regard to control keys, however, such as the Command key on the Apple keyboard and the Windows key on the regular keyboard. For example, when using a regular keyboard with a Mac, the Command key function will no longer have any use.
Q7.  Why is the Anker keyboard so expensive?
We incorporate top-quality chips and other raw materials into our products to ensure maximum performance. We have strict manufacturing standards and require quality inspection of all of our finished products. All defective goods are sent back for reprocessing, as we believe that higher costs during the manufacturing process result in a better customer experience. Moreover, we have one of the world’s most professional customer service teams standing behind each of our products.
Q8.  How do you keep it closed?
There is a magnetised section that will adhere to the iPad Mini to keep it closed.
Q9.  Is this same as the Folio keyboard case?
No, it does not come with a case
Q10.  Can I use this on my lap e.g. on the train?
Q11.  Is there a shortcut to send a message using the keyboard?
Press Shift+Cmd+D, but this will only work with iOS's built in Mail app.
Q12.  How come the arrow keys are not working in the browser?
The arrow keys will only work when you are typing text.

Ipad will not recognise device

I used this device for about six months and it worked fine, over the summer I didn't use it for three months and now my ipad will not find it even when bluetooth on both devices is switched on. It just says 'searching.' Where is the connect button on the keyboard ? Any help would be much appreciated.

Brian Mayes

Per the user manual, the connect button should be on the top left next to the "on/off" switch

To pair:

Turn off the power toggle switch. The power indicator will turn on for 3 seconds and shut off. Press the connect button. The bluetooth indicator will start to flash. The keyboard case is now ready to connect to your deivce. Once the bluetooth keyboard case has been found, click on its name to connect. Enter the passcode as displayed on the screen. Once paird the indicator will turn off.

Using voice dictation

I use voice dictation a lot.  Is there a way to use voice dictation on the iPad mini when also using the Anker bluetooth keyboard?

If not, is there a shortcut to transition back to the built in keyboard instead to have access to the microphone?

Unfortunately you can't use it at the same time as the keyboard. However, the connect button on the keyboard will allow you to access the keyboard.

Disconecting keyboard

Really love the keyboard, easy to setup, and stays connected, unlike other types I`ve owned.

What is the corrrect sequence to disconnect and go back to the on-screen keyboard? The problem I`m having is after powering down bluetooth and removing keyboard, the on-screen board pops up and stays there, locking up the ipad.

Thanks for your help, BobK

Try doing this again, and when it locks the iPad, hold the power button and home button down for about 15 seconds.

This will force restart your iPad. Please try this and let me know if it works again.

Have you pressed the 'Connect' button on the keyboard to disconnect as well?

If this doesn't help then give our customer service guys a shout at, remember all our devices have an 18 month warranty.

Keyboard failure

So I just got my keyboard on Christmas, and now its not working. The lights turn on when I switch it on, but it wont type or do anthing. And I've been careful with it, so its not like I did anything to break it. I just don't know what's going on...

Bluetooth keyboard for iPad mini
Hi folks Iam looking for a UK supplier for a silver bluetooth keyboard cover for an iPad mini. I have checked Amazon they only have it in blackThanks Alun

I have this Bluetooth keyboard cover in silver, which I purchased from Amazon U.S.  When I use the Amazon app on my iPad I can switch freely from buying from Amazon UK to Amazon U.S. and simply complete the purchase normally. I've never found out how to do that on a desktop computer. But what I'm saying is that you should be able to log in to Amazon U.S. and purchase the silver version.

Can't pair
I'm bought it online at and my sister sent to Brazil to me. Unfortunatelly it doesn't work. My ipad just can't find it, it does not appear on my devices list when bluetooth is on. I can't pair this keyboard with my ipad. I'm so sad. I've tried everything!

I bought this product on Amazon and I love it but I lost the charger cord so it will be useless to me soon. Is there anyway to buy just the cord?

You can contact Anker's customer service if they can spare you a charging cable. 1-800-988-7973 (US) Mon-Fri 9am-5pm (PST) If not, you can always purchase a charging cable from Amazon, Monoprice, and other online retailers.

If this is like the bigger one for iPad, then it's just a standard microUSB cable that most android/kindle/nokia devices use isn't it? Available for less than a £1/$1 online
Reply Report as spam Sep 10, 2014 at 12:53 AM

As Stemcgoo said, you just need a Micro USB to USB cable. These are available from most good electronics stores as well as online retailers.

Only Anker, look no further!
I am very impressed by this brand. The keyboard exceeded my expectations! They keys are comfortable, soft, and wont scratch your ipad mini when in case mode. It also acts as a smart case putting the ipad to sleep. Perfect for a trip to the coffee shop or business work out of town with the range of free word processing, database, and other apps in the app store. The shortcut keys are great and easy to understand!I find myself quickly grabbing this case to take notes, recipies, and most importantly, write up contracts on the go for my photography business. You never know where you are going to be when someone needs a waiver sent over ASAP!
